From Monday 19 October, a new and improved Priority Lane will replace the Residents' Lane at Downtown Auckland and Matiatia, with priority boarding available on every Waiheke Walk-up sailing, all day.
For residents, this benefit is free. For visitors wanting access to the Priority Lane, they will need to purchase a Priority Ticket.
How it works
Arrive at the Priority Lane at least 10 minutes before your sailing’s departure time, show your Residents Card or eligible pass, join the Priority Lane and you'll board ahead of the general queue, with first pick of available seats.
Who can use the Priority Lane
- Any Resident Card holder
- Waiheke Monthly Pass
- 40-Trip Pass
- Waiheke Off-Island Ticket
What's changing?
The Residents' Lane is now becoming the Priority Lane, where both residents and Priority Ticket holders will have access to priority boarding. For residents – this is a free benefit - resident card holders can use it at all times.
Am I losing a benefit?
No, you're gaining priority boarding benefits. The Priority Lane will be available on all sailings, not just the previous Residents' Lane hours. The difference is that the lane is now shared with Priority Ticket holders. In the Priority Lane you’ll get the benefit of boarding first, ahead of the general queue.
Will it get crowded?
To maintain a priority boarding experience for all in the lane, we will be limiting the number of Priority tickets sold on each sailing, so the lane stays quick and easy for you.
How does boarding work?
Arrive at the Priority Lane at least 10 minutes before your desired sailing departure time, and show your Resident Card or eligible pass and join the Priority Lane. From there. You will board first and have first choice of available seating.
Anything else I need to know?
Now is a good time to make sure you have a valid and up to date Resident Card as these will be regularly checked.
